The nose reveals some power, fine complexity and a fine, powdery texture. There are notes of violet, crushed blackcurrant and more lightly wild strawberry combined with hints of purple plum, fine hints of blueberry, star anise and a discreet hint of incense and a subtle touch of cocoa. The palate is fresh, juicy and offers lovely fleshy/juicy fruit, precision, deliciousness, definition and purity (of fruit). On the palate this wine has bright violet plum, pulpy blackcurrant and slightly violet notes with hints of wild dark berries, lily, fine raspberry jam and discreet incense and cocoa. Lovely velvety tannins. An imperceptible hint of rose and almost saline minerality in the background.
