The nose is fruity, racy and reveals intensity, freshness and a very fine infusion. There are notes of pulpy wild blackcurrant, boysenberry and, more lightly, ripe wild berries, combined with fine roasted tips and a discreet hint of liquorice and sweet tobacco. The palate is fruity, offering minerality, juiciness, fine acidity, sapidity, sweetness and a lovely tart/fresh/pulpy fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/acidic raspberry, fresh/acidic small red berries and more lightly violet combined with hints of blackcurrant as well as fine hints of liquorice stick and a subtle touch of vanilla. Nice freshness and minerality as well as a chalky edge on the palate. Good work on the bitter taste. Good length.
