The nose is elegant and offers controlled power, some intensity, fine grain and elegance. There are notes of wild blackberry, cuben pepper and more lightly ripe/fresh dark berry fruit combined with hints of red currant, spice, fine crushed berry fruit and a discreet touch of coffee, fresh tobacco and spice. The palate is fruity, balanced and reveals minerality, acidity, good definition, juiciness and freshness. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, raspberry and more slightly fleshy/juicy cherry notes combined with hints of fresh/acidic blue berries, fine nuances of fresh blond tobacco as well as sweet spice, nutmeg, a very discreet hint of ripe almond (in the background) and a subtle hint of positive bitterness. The tannins are smooth and elegant.
