The nose is fruity and reveals a fine power, some concentration, a fine richness of fruit and spiciness. There are notes of fleshy, juicy strawberry, blackberry and more lightly of fleshy, ripe wild berries combined with hints of grey pepper, violet, star anise and a subtle hint of spice. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, minerality, roundness, a certain fat, gourmandize, generosity, mastery and some acidity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy, juicy blackberry, raspberry and, more slightly, crushed redcurrant, combined with a touch of blackcurrant, mocha, blueberry, racy minerality, fine points of cardamom, as well as a subtle hint of star anise in the background and a very discreet, almost saline touch. The tannins are well-managed.
