Brio de Cantenac-Brown 2021 – Margaux

Brio de Cantenac-Brown 2021 – Margaux

The nose is fruity and shows some concentration, freshness, finesse and a certain tension. There are notes of crushed blackcurrant, fleshy/pulpy strawberry and more lightly fleshy/crushed raspberry combined with fine hints of lily, graphite, racy minerality as well as fine, almost chocolatey, hints of tonka beans. Density with finesse. The palate is fruity and reveals juiciness, gourmandize, a nice acidic structure, a nice burst of freshness from the fruit, density with finesse and a little stretch. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, fresh/crisp blackcurrant and more slightly acidic/crisp red berries combined with hints of graphite, racy minerality, fine nuances of crisp/tart cherry as well as delicate hints of racy minerality, tonka bean, discreet Bourbon vanilla and a subtle hint of toastiness. The tannins are precise, racy, acidic and sapid. Good length and persistence. Nice straightforwardness and finesse. A subtle hint of saltiness/iodine in the background/persistence. A lovely classic, very well done!
