The nose is spicy. There are notes of clove, fleshy strawberry and, to a lesser extent, blackberry, combined with hints of nutmeg, pepper and a hint of fresh leather. The palate is fresh, fruity, tight and reveals volume and a juicy structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright red berries, crunchy cherry and slightly fresh/crisp blackcurrant combined with hints of fresh flowers (peony, lily) as well as fine hints of liquorice, a subtle touch of rose, racy minerality and toasted almond. The tannins are slightly tight and pronounced.
