Château de Cassana 2021 – Haut-Médoc

The nose reveals a certain concentration of fruit. There are notes of Morello cherry, juicy/chunky strawberry and more slightly blueberry combined with hints of bright blackcurrant as well as fine hints of liquorice, black pepper and a discreet hint of incense. The palate is fruity and reveals juiciness, brightness, freshness, roundness, a nice fresh/sparkling fruit, a fine floral edge and some tension. On the palate this wine expresses bright raspberry, fresh/juicy red cherry and slightly brighter blackcurrant notes combined with fine hints of violet, racy minerality, liquorice as well as a discreet hint of lilac and a subtle touch of cardamom. The tannins are mellow. Good length.
