Château de Carles – Haut de Carles 2021 – Fronsac

The nose is aromatic and shows some freshness, intensity and a fine, powerful grain. There are notes of juicy/fresh boysenberry, juicy/pulpy raspberry and a hint of coffee/smoke combined with hints of pulpy blue berries, blueberry and fine hints of bourbon vanilla bean, cardamom and a subtle hint of saffron (a fine floral character). The palate is fruity and reveals freshness, minerality, good definition, juiciness, some volume, tension, precision, a fine linear side and concentration. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackberry, bright blackcurrant and more lightly blue berries with hints of juicy/sparkling cherry and hints of violet, blueberry, fine cardamom, graphite, almond and roast.
