Château Haut-Sarpe 2019 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

On the nose it is fruity and offers a certain richness, a fine intensity, a good definition as well as a fine texture. It reveals notes of cassis, pulpy small black fruits and more slightly pulpy strawberries associated with a touch of blue berries, vanilla as well as a hint of toasted hazelnut and caramelization. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers a tangy frame, good definition, juiciness, fat, roundness, a little creaminess, freshness (in the background) as well as a fine salinity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy / creamy raspberry, pulpy strawberry and more slightly of juicy / tangy cassis associated with touches of small fruits, cornflowers, hints of vanilla, tobacco as well as a subtle hint toasted almond and chocolate. Tannins are precise, smooth and well-rounded. Sweetness at the end of the mouth / persistence.
