Château Mondou 2019 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity and offers some concentration, a little fleshiness, power as well as a slightly tight grain. It reveals notes of luscious wild blackberry, crushed cassis and more lightly crushed raspberry associated with touches of star anise, spices and a hint of black pepper. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, minerality, a mineral frame, a certain concentration as well as darkness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of black blackberry, small crushed blackberries and more slightly of fresh sour cherry associated with a touch of raspberry, hints of cocoa / dark chocolate, star anise, with fine hints of toasted almonds as well as a discreet hint of black tea and vanilla. Good length.
