Château Fonroque 2011 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

Château Fonroque 2011 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity and offers elegance, harmony, a certain richness as well as a fine airy touch in the approach. There are notes of fairly ripe Boysen blackberry, zan and more slightly small ripe red fruits associated with a touch of bigarreau cherry, lily, tobacco as well as a discreet hint of paprika, cloves and with a subtle hint of pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, framed / well-structured and offers juiciness, a little straightness as well as tension. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fairly ripe cassis, black blackberry and more slightly sour cherry associated with touches of fairly ripe raspberry, violet, racy minerality as well as fine hints of saffron (in its flowery side), tonka bean, cardamom and a subtle almost truffle hint (in the background). Tannins are racy. Good length.
