Clos Fourtet 2011 – Saint Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé

On the nose is aromatic, elegant and offers a certain little contained power as well as delicacy. It reveals notes of bright blackberry, juicy / bright strawberry, juicy / bright strawberry and more slightly of fairly small ripe red fruits associated with touches of violet, tangy blueberry as well as fine hints of cherry blossoms , limestone, Sichuan pepper, lilac, tobacco, spices and an imperceptible hint of camphor. The palate is fruity, balanced, racy, all in delicacy and offers elegance, a nice bright fruit, a nice freshness, roundness, shine, a little fat, suavity, a little vibrant side as well as a certain power / richness in elegance and with a stretched / gourmand side. This wine expresses notes of fresh / bright blueberry, raspberry and more slightly crushed redcurrants associated with touches of violet, toasted almond, nutmeg as well as hints of toast and a discreet hint of caramelization . Tannins are smooth. Pretty mellow and sapidity persistence. A very nice wine in an often underestimated vintage
