Leonarda Tardi – Alikase 2019, Nero D’Avola – Sicilia IGT

The nose is fresh, racy and offers a ripe/fresh fruit. It reveals notes of pulpy boysenberry, raspberry and small notes of bright plum combined with small touches of cornflowers/flowers as well as slight hints of liquorice, a discreet hint of olive and sweet spices. The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced and offers a mineral structure, juiciness, a beautiful acidulous frame, a certain pulpiness, a certain straightness and a certain controlled richness of the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy cherry, blackberry and small notes of violet associated with a touch of fresh fig, crushed plum as well as hints of racy minerality, local olive/grove, a discreet hint of tonka bean and an imperceptible hint of anise (in the background). Good length. Tannins are structuring.
