The wine would benefit from being decanted. There are notes of ripe Williams pear, fresh quince and slightly spices combined with hints of toasty, fermentation as well as hints of toasted hazelnuts and pepper. There is a subtle hint of fresh licorice. The palate is fresh with juice. It has a tangy frame with a certain tension: it is discreetly tight, with a stretched side and energy. There are notes of tangy / juicy apples, quince and more lightly starfruit paired with hints of lemon caviar and kumquat zest. There is a fine hint of lychee, apple blossom, fresh walnuts and a subtle hint of fresh licorice. Good length, biting, a fine chew and a certain sapidity on the finish and on the persistence.
