Château Vray Croix de Gay 2020 – Pomerol

On the nose, fruity with juicy/fresh fruit, subtle intensity, discreetly tight texture and a little depth. It reveals notes of pulpy/juicy boysenberry, pulpy/juicy raspberry and hints of bright cassis combined with fresh/crisp strawberry, iris, fresh lilac as well as hints of tonka bean, discreet nuances of sweet spices, nutmeg and a subtle hint of fresh blond tobacco. On the palate, fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, smoothness, good definition, a certain gourmandize, an acidic frame, finesse, delicate tension as well as harmony. The wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, fresh raspberry and slightly crunchy/juicy red berry notes combined with a touch of cassis, lilac, fresh blond tobacco, fine points of nutmeg as well as a discreet touch of toasted hazelnut and vanilla. The tannins are precise and mellow. Nice finish with a little chewy and good persistence.
