Château La Croix du Merle 2020, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 

On the nose, fruity and concentrated, with freshness and good definition. It reveals notes of pulpy blackberry, small bright blackcurrant and hints of blueberry associated with touches of crushed strawberry, licorice and nuances of tonka bean, black tea, saffron and spices. On the palate it is fruity and offers gourmandize, acidity, juiciness, creaminess as well as freshness, good definition and precision. The wine expresses notes of pulpy/creamy blackcurrant, blackberry and plump raspberry combined with hints of blueberry, caramelization, licorice, fine toasted hazelnut, tobacco, a subtle hint of vanilla and a very discreet nuance of coffee in the background. The tannins are precise and finely firm. Good length.
