On the nose, elegant and offers freshness, power, some intensity/depth. It reveals notes of creamy blackcurrant, boysenberry bursting/fresh and more lightly pulpy wild blue berries combined with hints of violet, morello cherry, cherry blossom and hints of tobacco, vanilla and almond. On the palate, fruity, juicy and offers a nice gourmandise of fruit, good definition, creaminess, juiciness, some minerality, richness (in freshness/fine). The wine expresses notes of bursting blackberry, crushed blueberry and more slightly fleshy/acidic currant combined with hints of pulpy/chunky dark berries, dark chocolate, caramelization, tobacco and a fine touch of toastiness. The tannins are structuring. Very discreet hints of cocoa on the finish/persistence. |
