On the nose, aromatic and offers some intensity, a little power and a fine grain. It reveals notes of wild blackcurrant, fresh wild blackberry and more lightly lily/varietal combined with hints of gray pepper, spice and a discreet hint of baked earth/terra cota. On the palate, fruity, juicy and offers minerality, a good base of fruit, a little creaminess, suavity as well as some roundness, airiness and generosity of the Cabernet Franc. The wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, blue berry and slightly blueberry notes with a touch of crunchy red berries, flowers, varietal, toastiness as well as hints of hazelnut, toasted almond, saffron and a discreet touch of baked earth. The tannins are massive and a bit marked. Good length. |
