On the nose it is elegant, nicely fresh and offers delicacy (in finesse), power (in subtlety), depth (in finesse), a nice sense of detail and complexity. It reveals notes of bright blackcurrant, luscious boysenberry, blackberry and more slightly violet associated blueberry / bright blue berries as well as hints of caramelization, toast, almond, with a subtle hint of vanilla bean, blueberry and licorice. On the palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, elegant, balanced and offers an astonishing freshness for such a hot vintage, a nice multi-layered side (all in finesse), a nice definition, precision, delicacy, richness (in finesse and almost restrained) as well as density (in elegance and balance) and an airy side. This wine expresses notes of bright black currant, juicy / luscious blackberry, luscious plum as well as fine hints of tonka bean, caramelized hazelnut, a hint of balsamic and spices. The tannins are elegant, massive, polished and subtle at the same time. A nice work of bitterness at the end of the length which lengthens it and brings a touch of flavor. A wine of contrasts surprisingly fine and complex in its richness.
