Château Ampelia 2018 – Castillon Côtes-de-Bordeaux

The nose is gourmand and offers a certain richness, a certain intensity as well as a fine grain. It reveals notes of crushed cassis, pulpy Boysenberry and small notes of fleshy strawberry associated with touches of toasted, vanilla, sour cherry, slight hints of hazelnut, star anise as well as an imperceptible hint of gray pepper and an imperceptible almost saline hint (in the background). The palate is fruity, mineral, well-balanced and offers a small acidulous frame, tension, an aerial side, a fine grain, precision as well as a beautiful definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of creamy blackberry, creamy strawberry and small notes of pulpy cassis associated with a touch of vanilla, hazelnut, crushed blue plum, chocolate as well as fine hints of sweet blond tobacco and toasted. Tannins are elegant and slightly mellow. Good length.
