Olivier Ravoire – Espee 2019 – Crozes-Hermitage

The nose offers power, intensity, a beautiful concentration of the fruit as well as a finely tight grain. It reveals notes of black cherry/bright bigarreau cherry, bright wild strawberry, small notes of blackberry associated with touches of small blue fruits/bright blue plum, lily, hints of sense of the place (local biotope), zan, black tea as well as a very discreet hint of saffron and a racy minerality. The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, full of delicacy, racy and offers a beautiful fresh/juicy/gourmand fruit, suavity, a melodious side, a beautiful definition, a beautiful volume, a beautiful finesse of the grain, an acidulous frame as well as sincerity. A lot of delicacy and an aromatic purity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy red plum, bright cherry, small notes of bright raspberry associated with touches of cherry stem, small bright fruit as well as hints of zan, almond, cherry blossom and a very discreet hint of sweet spices. Tannins are fine, delicate, supple and elegant. There are very discreet hints of chocolate and an imperceptible hint of coconut in the persistence/finish. A very fine chew in the persistence. A beautiful persistence.
