Domaine Gaujal – Cuvée 1744, 2019 – Picpoul de Pinet

The nose is slightly retained and offers a small richness. The wine needs to be put in carafe. It reveals notes of fleshy green peach, quenette and small notes of passion fruit associated with small touches of apple, crushed small fruits as well as slight iodine hints, verbena, sage and an imperceptible hint of rosemary. The palate is fruity, mineral, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, a small tension / straightness, a small freshness, a good definition, richness, concentration as well as a fine power. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crushed green apple, quenette and small notes of crunchy green peach associated with touches of quenette, passion fruit, fine hints of zest (orange, kumquat) as well as hints of toasted hazelnut, a subtle varietal hint and discreet toasted hints / vanilla.
