Château de La Rivière – Les Sources 2018 – Fronsac

The nose is fruity and offers a fine salinity, freshness and dynamism. It reveals notes of pulpy Boysen berry, pulpy strawberry, small notes of crushed cassis associated with touches of saline minerality as well as hints of violet, lilac and a very discreet hint of pepper. The palate is fresh, mineral, fruity and offers a fine controlled power, a good definition, a juicy/fresh fruit as well as gourmandize and an acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh blackberry, crushed cassis, small notes of juicy/fresh plum associated with touches of fresh raspberry as well as hints of violet, lilac, toasted, chocolate, a subtle hint of caramelization and coffee (in the background). A fine firmness of the tannins.
