Château Grand Corbin-Despagne 2010 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, racy and offers a good definition, a fine intensity, a fine richness and harmony. It reveals notes of crushed/fleshy Boysen berry, strawberry and small notes of violet plum associated with fine touches of zan, fresh nutmeg, tobacco box as well as a discreet hint of clove and a very discreet hint of underwood. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy and offers juiciness, an acidulous frame, a fine tension as well as minerality and a certain straightness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe/juicy cassis, juicy/ripe black plum and small notes of small acidulous/crushed red berries associated with touches of strawberry, violet/lily as well as hints of tobacco, camphor, cloves as well as a very discreet hint of vanilla pod and underwood. Good length. Tannins are elegant, fine and well-built. A small sapidity/a saline hint in the finish/persistence.
