Château Chauvin 2010 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose offers power (full of finesse), concentration (full of finesse) as well as a good definition, a fine grain and a racy power. It reveals notes of pulpy blackberry, quite ripe cassis and small notes of small crushed black fruits associated with touches of violet plum, Cuben pepper, violet as well as hints of tobacco/tobacco box, graphit, cedar, spices, a subtle hint of cocoa and rosewood (in the background). The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, power/richness, tension as well as a fine/finely tight grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy wild cassis, juicy/wild blackberry, small notes of black plum associated with touches of ripe wild strawberry and small notes of black plum associated with touches of ripe wild strawberry, violet, graphite, tonka bean as well as hints of tobacco box, incense and an imperceptible hint of tea (in the background). Good length.
