Prulho – XO, Hors d’Âge – Cognac

The nose is aromatic, chiseled and offers a certain intensity as well as an incisive side. It reveals notes of Zante currant, dry orange, small notes of dry peach associated with small touches of cedrat, quince, caramel apple as well as fine hints of toasted almond, toffee, a subtle hint of pepper and a very discreet hint of liquorice/coffee. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, suavity as well as fullness and a small franc side. On the palate this Cognac expresses notes of caramel pear, caramelized peach, small notes of dry lemon associated with touches of orangette, dry apple as well as fine hints of toffee, caramelization, tobacco, cedrat, very discreet hints of liquorice and coffee. Good length. A very discreet hint of pepper on the finish/persistence.
