Domaine du Château de Meursault – Clos des Chênes 2018 – Volnay, Premier Cru

The nose is elegant and offers richness, a certain power, an unctuous sensation, a fine grain and a fine tension. It reveals notes of creamy blackberry, strawberry, small notes of plum associated with fine touches of crushed blueberry, zan as well as very fine hints of graphite, a racy minerality, cardamom, toasted hazelnut, a discreet caramelized hint and chocolate. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, minerality, juiciness as well as a beautiful precision, tension, a certain aromatic purity, suavity, a fine sapidity and a beautiful generous definition on the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy cassis, pulpy plum, small notes of redcurrant associated with touches of bright cherry as well as fine hints of blueberry, zan, mild tobacco, cornflower and fine hints of chocolate. Tannins are elegant, precise and structuring.
