Domaine Simon Blanchard – Au Champ de la Fenêtre 2018 – Montagne Saint-Emilionv

The nose is fruity and offers gourmandize as well as a fleshy/juicy/appeting fruit. It reveals notes of pulpy cassis, fleshy Boysen berry, small notes of fleshy/fresh violet plum associated with fine touches of cherry/strawberry as well as hints of zan, sweet spices, a very discreet hint of green cardamom and vanilla. The palate is fruity and offers gourmandize, juiciness as well as a fine acidulous frame, a beautiful juicy/acidulous/fleshy fruit, a fine tension and a beautiful guideline. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy/acidulous blackberry, plum, small notes of strawberry associated with small touches of crushed cassis as well as hints of lilac, cornflower. A discreet hint of toasted hazelnut/dark chocolate on the persistence. Tannins are elegant and well-built.
