Château d’Etroyes – Les Champs Martin 2018 – Mercurey Premier Cru

The nose is fruity, racy and offers a controlled power, a very fine intensity, a beautiful finesse of the grain and a fine bewitching side. It reveals notes of kumquat, buttercup, small notes of lychee core associated with fine touches of racy minerality, a small fleshy fruit as well as a hint of grapefruit zests, mandarine flowers and a subtle hint of spices (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers freshness, minerality, a good definition as well as juiciness, precision and a fine straightness (well-controlled). On the palate this wine expresses notes of kumquat, quince, buttercup, small notes of lychee core associated with small touches of a racy minerality, fleshy apple as well as very fine hints of white flowers, mandarine flowers, a subtle hint of bee wax and an imperceptible hint of fresh nutmeg. Good length.
