Caymus – Zinfandel 2017 – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity and offers gourmandize and a small richness. It reveals notes of cassis, small black berries and small notes of cooked blueberry associated with fine touches of strawberry as well as fine hints of liquorice stick and very discreet hints of violet. The mouth is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers juiciness/freshness as well as a mineral/finely acidulous frame. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy cassis, black cherry and small notes of cooked/ripe blueberry associated with small touches of juicy raspberry as well as fine hints of zan, liquorice and a subtle hint of tonka bean/cocoa. Tannins are well-built and structuring.
