Reviver of old vineyards, garage wine co has pushed boundaries in Chile by producing single parcel, lot specific wines with grapes sourced from different small parcels generally from farmers who worked with a horse and plough. One of the single parcels, Lot 59 is a blend of seven barrels of Garnacha and one barrel of Syrah from the Bagual vineyard in Caliboro in the Maule Valley. Only about 2000 bottles were made. The wine is richly textured, chiseled, layered, singular and very floral at the same time. There’s a candied fruit character and a very fresh expression. The tannins are smooth and the wine feels flimsy, fragile.
