Taylor’s – Vargellas 2016 Vintage Port

Taylor’s – Vargellas 2016 Vintage Port

The nose is aromatic, flowery and offers a beautiful power as well as structure. It reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and violet associated with slight touches of blueberry as well as discreet hints of spices, nutmeg, rose, lily and a very discreet hint of eucalyptus. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition, a beautiful structure, a beautiful finesse, a good texture, suavity, delicacy, power as well as a fine acidulous frame. A wine full of finesse despite the power. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cassis and flowers associated with small touches of strawberry, lily, eucalyptus / boxwood as well as a very discreet hint of mandarin (in the background) and acidulous raspberry. There are a very discreet hint of alcohol as well as a hint of dark chocolate square, coffee and menthol on the persistence. (2030+)
