Bulas 2016 – Vintage Porto

The nose is aromatic, elegant, gourmand and offers power as well as juiciness. It reveals notes of crushed cassis, blueberry, violet / cornflower and small notes of blueberry, crushed raspberry, liquorice stick associated with discreet hints of pepper. The palate is soft, delicate, elegant, frank and offers a beautiful finesse of the grain, harmony, a slight acid frame, power, finesse, a slight straightness, a beautiful texture as well as a small tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, crushed cassis and small notes of crushed blueberry associated with small touches of sour cherry, licorice, chocolate, caramelization as well as a very discreet touch of Bourbon vanilla (in the background). Tannins are fine, a bit firm and structuring. The finish offers power as well as a hint of coffee. A slight straightness and a nice texture. There is a hint of cocoa on the aftertaste. Good potential!
