Château Ausone 2016 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé A 

The nose is elegant and offers a slight complexity, a beautiful finesse, elegance, harmony as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, crushed cassis and small notes of fleshy raspberry, graphite, cornflower, chocolate combined with touches of caramelization as well as discreet hints of spices, Sichuan pepper and an imperceptible hint of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, elegant, juicy and offers a slight juiciness, a good definition, a beautiful finesse of the grain, delicacy, a good structure as well as power (but full of finesse). On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry and crushed cassis associated with small notes of fleshy black cherry, fleshy strawberry as well as touches of raspberry, caramelization, vanilla and discreet toasted hints. Tannins are fine and a bit chewy, precise and straight. Good length.
