OVID 2014 – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity / aromatic, beautifully elegant, concentrated, racy, complex and offers a very beautiful freshness as well as a beautiful balance. It reveals notes of wild cassis, boysenberry, wild raspberry and small notes of juicy berries associated with small touches of caramelization, almond, liquorice, racy minerality as well as very discreet hints of undergrowth / mushroom, tonka bean, tea, menthol, a very discreet hint of dry local vegetation and an imperceptible hint of flowers. An amazing wine! The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful freshness, a good definition, a beautiful suavity, a good structure, a very slight finesse, power, a certain delicacy, a beautiful finesse of the grain as well as a very discreet straightness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, juicy / fresh cassis and small notes of fleshy / juicy blackberry associated with small touches of fresh raspberry, crunchy strawberry, touches of cocoa / tonka bean, caramelization, toasted touches as well as slight hints of fresh red berries, almonds, tobacco and a subtle hint of ceda. Tannins are fine and a bit firm. Good length. Beautiful and gourmand persistence. There are hints of chocolate, hazelnut and toasted hints on the persistence (brings suavity). (2026+)
