Silverado Vineyards – SOLO 2011, Cabernet Suvignon – Stags Leap District, Napa Valley 

The nose is fruity, fresh and elegant. It reveals notes of cassis, ripe cherry and small notes of crushed raspberry associated with small hints of blue fruits, red bell pepper as well as slight hints of liquorice, vanilla, colas and a very discreet hint of Sichuan. The palate is fruity, beautifully fresh, well-balanced and offers a beautiful acidulous frame, a beautiful suavity, a good finesse of the grain, gourmandise, a fine suavity, a beautiful elegance as well as a beautiful definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy / fleshy blackberry, juicy black cherry and small notes of ripe / juicy redcurrants associated with small / slight touches of wild strawberry, licorice / Zan as well as slight hints of tobacco, ripe almond and vanilla. Tannins are a bit chewy. Good length. The finish is slightly tight.
