Domaine de la Poulette – Clos des Poulettes 2009 – Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru

The nose is aromatic, elegant and offers finesse, a fine intensity as well as a fine depthness. The wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of red berries, black cherries, blackberry and small notes of cassis associated with discreet hints of gray pepper, zan as well as a discreet hint of rose / violet and an imperceptible hint of camphor. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise, suave, well-built and offers roundness, a beautiful definition, suavity, elegance as well as an acid pattern. On the palate this wine expresses notes of redcurrants / red berries, black cherry and small notes of blueberry associated with small touches of wild strawberry, discreet touches of liquorice, flowers (rose, cassis bud) as well as a very discreet hint of sweet spices / chocolate. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length. There is an imperceptible touch of ripe almond on the finish / persistence.
