Prince Hubert de Polignac – XO Royal – Cognac 

The nose is fine, a bit tight, elegant, aromatic and offers a finely / well-controlled power. It reveals notes of dry lemon, dried orange and small notes of raisin, dried zest combined with fine notes of fruit in syrup, a hint of pot-pourri, rancio, spices and a very discreet hint of gray pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise and offers a fine mineral frame, a good definition, a fine freshness, a fine power as well as a very fine unctuosity. On the palate, this Cognac expresses notes of candied mandarin, crystallized lemon and slight notes of dried zest, fruit in syrup associated with small touches of rancio, dried white flowers, a very discreet hint of caramelization, cigar, cocoa as well as an imperceptible hint of Sichuan pepper (in the background) and slight hints of Bourbon vanilla. Good length.
