Château Trapaud 2014 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Château Trapaud 2014 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity, elegant, slightly spicy, slightly powerful/intense and offers a slight incisive side. It reveals notes of flowers (violet, peony), ripe blackberry and crushed raspberry associated with touches of black cherry, strawberry (discreet), licorice as well as a hint of Sichuan pepper and a subtle woody hint. The palate is fruity, mineral, well- balanced, suave, slightly tight and offers a slight freshness, a slight gourmandise, a slight fat, precision, a mineral frame as well as a slight tension. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fresh blackberry, fleshy/ripe strawberry and slight notes of ripe raspberry associated with a hint of cherry, fleshy cassis, violet and an imperceptible hint of cassis bud (in the background) as well as slight woody touches, chocolate and cardamom. Tannins are fine, tight and still young. Good length. There is a slight toasted hint of chocolate and a discreet hint of almond on the persistence. (2018)
