Castello Vicchiomaggio – La Prima 2013 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The nose is fine and quite elegant. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, cassis and toasted wood / vanilla combined with a discreet hint of red fruit as well as slight hints flower and a discreet hint of black olive. The palate is fruity, juicy, gourmand, suave and offers a fine acid frame, a fine tension as well as a nice juiciness and definition. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry and blueberry associated with slight touches of cassis, juicy strawberry, cherry, hints of licorice as well as a discreet hint of chocolate and a discreet toasted hint. Good length.
