Villa Calcinaia – Vigna Bastignano 2013 – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The nose reveals notes of cassis, small red berries and slight hints of olive combined with hints of toasted oak, a discreet hint of Sichuan pepper as well as a slight hint of flowers and blackberry. The mouth is fruity, gourmand, fleshy, fine and offers a small harmony, a fine freshness as well as a nice suavity / expression. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, plum and slight notes of red berries / strawberry combined with a discreet hint of cassis as well as touches of toasted / caramelized wood and a discreet hint of chocolate. Tannins are a bit dry and firm. Good length.
