Alpha Omega – Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon 2013 – Oakville, Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, elegant, relatively powerful and a small juiciness and a certain intensity. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and red fruits associated with slight notes of oak, liquorice as well as a discreet hint of graphite and cigar box / tobacco. The mouth is nicely fruity, well-balanced and offers a nice freshness, a nice volume, a good structure, fat, a mineral frame, roundness, suavity as well as a beautiful and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy fruits, cassis, blackberry and fine touches of red fruit (red berries, cherry, raspberry) associated with (very) fine notes of toasted oak, mocha (in the background) as well as a discreet hint of zan and a slight note of hazelnut / caramelization. Tannins are elegant, structured and nicely supple for their age. Good length and good persistence. A beautiful wine! Good job!
