OVID Hexameter 2013 – Napa Valley

(64% Cabernet Franc, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot) The nose is fruity, concentrated and offers a small freshness and a certain exuberance. It reveals notes of blueberry jam, cassis and touches of cherry, sour cherry, liquorice combined with a discreet touch of Sichuan pepper, discreet touches of wood as well as slight notes of flowers (rose, cornflower, a touch of lily) and chocolate powder. The palate is fruity, gourmand, elegant, fine, racy and offers a nice freshness, tension, fat, suavity as well as a beautiful and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, cassis and fine touches of blueberry jam associated with a hint of crushed wild strawberry, chocolate, fine touches of wood as well as a discreet hint of caramelization and vanilla. Tannins are fine, elegant and slightly dusty. Good length.
