WINE, BRUNELLO CONSORTIUM: SATISFACTION WITH THE EXPANSION OF ROSSO DI MONTALCINO DOC VINEYAR

Tuscany region assigns 352 hectares of vineyard to 271 companies

The Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium expresses satisfaction with the completion of the process related to the expansion of the Rosso di Montalcino DOC register. “The Consortium’s initiative has received full support from the wine companies and prompt attention from the Region, for which we are grateful. From today, our Rosso di Montalcino designation will be stronger and better equipped to meet demand in various markets.”

This is how Fabrizio Bindocci, President of the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium, commented on the announcement by the Tuscany Region regarding the assignment of 352 hectares of land to 271 companies, designated for the Montalcino DOC.

The expansion will not involve the planting of new vineyards since the additional claimable hectares are already part of the territory’s maps as plots of vineyards cultivated with Sangiovese but not yet included in the restricted registers.
