Oro de Masos, Alfafarenca – Alicante (Spain)

(2025/2026 harvest) The oil has an intense golden color. The nose initially expresses notes of pan-fried zucchini with herbs, marinated artichoke, a touch of stone fruit, as well as fleshy tomatoes (beefsteak, kumato), toasted almond, ripe olive, and bay leaf. The palate has a rich attack, with distinct notes of toasted hazelnut and toasted almond, complemented by a hint of ripe olive, integrated bitterness, and a fairly pronounced peppery touch. The flavors of pan-fried vegetables (pan-fried zucchini, pan-fried eggplant) and roasted tomatoes with herbs then emerge. The oil’s texture is very delicate, enveloping, and silky. An elegant and flavorful oil with a very long finish.
