Pierre Prieur & Fils, Domaine de Saint – Pierre 2019 – Sancerre

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers purity, precision and a ripe fruity notes. It expresses aromas of red cherry, juicy morello cherry, crunchy raspberry, wild strawberry, blueberry and wild blackberry. We also find the freshness of wild mint, a floral touch of rose petals and a delicate spicy side (licorice, cumin, white pepper, a touch of vanilla in the background). On the palate, the wine offers expressive and juicy fruity flavors. It expresses notes of fresh morello cherry, morello cherry jam,wild strawberry, red currant jelly, crushed blueberry, as well as a hint of crème de cassis, associated with notes of sweet spices (vanilla, a touch of cinnamon, licorice), chocolate cherry in the background, as well as floral notes of iris and rose. The tannins are silky, but structured. The finish is persistent, juicy and enveloping, with notes of ripe red fruits and a touch of chocolate, refreshed by a supple, but refreshing acidity.
