OVID –  Hexameter 2014 – Nap Valley

The nose is aromatic, fresh, fruity, racy, complex and offers power (but full of finesse), concentration, a beautiful freshness as well as a small minerality. It reveals notes of fleshy / fresh blackberry, fleshy / fresh cassis and fresh / crushed strawberry associated with small touches of blue fruits, ripe wild berries, hints of hazelnut, nutmeg, flowers, fresh leather, chocolate, spices, a hint of gray / Cuben pepper as well as discreet hints of tea, cardamom and sweet spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, a bit aerial and offers a beautiful freshness, a beautiful finesse of the grain, a good tension, a beautiful definition, a very slight suavity as well as a ripe and crunchy fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy / crunchy blackberry, juicy/ripe cassis, small notes of wild strawberry and touches of small wild berries, juicy / fresh raspberry associated with slight hints of nutmeg, cardamom , tea, fresh licorice as well as very discreet hints of grove and racy minerality. Tannins are fine, straight and a bit firm. Good length. A very beautiful wine! Great success!
