Manuel Olivier 2015 – Gevrey-Chambertin

Manuel Olivier 2015 – Gevrey-Chambertin

The nose is aromatic and offers power as well as concentration. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, fleshy wild strawberry and small notes of spices associated with touches of leather, cornflower, Cuben pepper as well as discreet hints of liquorice and a very discreet hint of underwood/mushroom. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, very finely tight and offers a beautiful suavity/fat, roundness, an acidulous frame, tension as well as energy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, wild raspberry and small notes of fleshy/acidulous red berries associated with a touch of juicy/fleshy violet plum as well as fine hints of underwood, sweet spices and liquorice. Tannins are well-built and fine. Good length. There is a very discreet hint of grilled and an imperceptible hint of nut on the persistence.
