M. Chapoutier – Petite Ruche 2018 – Croze-Hermitage

The nose is elegant, delicate, complexe, racy and offers deepness, a beautiful finesse of the grain as well as a beautiful precision. It reveals notes of crushed physalis, small yellow plum, small notes of fresh apricot associated with touches of yellow peach, peach flowers, pear, discreet hints of candied kumquat as well as a subtle hint of acacia, a very discreet hint of sage, an imperceptible hint of fresh hazelnut and an imperceptible almost saline hint. The palate is fruity, elegant, delicate, beautifully built, complex, complete and offers fullness full of finesse, delicacy, fat/small unctuosity (full of finesse), precision as well as a fine acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of small yellow berries, physalis, small notes of bright Mirabelle associated with touches of candied quince, kumquat, fine hints of lemon flowers, sage, sense of the place (local biotope), almond flowers as well as very discreet hints of racy minerality and an imperceptible hint of fresh nutmeg (in the background). A beautiful balance of the bitter!
