Château Thénac Cuvée 1621 – 2022 – Bergerac

The nose is fruity and offers lovely power and finesse of grain, intensity, control and harmony. It expresses notes of pulpy blackcurrant, violet and, more slightly, bright wild strawberry combined with touches of pulpy violet plum, smoke, star anise and a hint of fresh sweet spices and a discreet saline hint. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, brightness and a nice definition, a pulpy finish, precision and a slight straightness. It expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cherry, violet and more slightly pulpy/juicy blackcurrant associated with touches of pulpy/juicy raspberry as well as hints of small blue fruits, smoke and vanilla with a subtle hint of roasting on the finish/persistence. The tannins are supple and distinguished. Freshness, minerality and elegance.
